Obituary

LeRoy Fred Grewe was born on December 15, 1942, in Gaylord, Minnesota. He was the son of Fred and Gretchen (Kloempken) Grewe. LeRoy was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mountville, Dryden Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. He received his education at St. John’s Lutheran School, Mountville and was a graduate of the Gaylord High School Class of 1960.

LeRoy served his country in the United States Army Reserves from April 9, 1961, through February 5, 1969, when he was Honorably Discharged. He achieved the rank of Private E2 and received the Sharpshooter Medal.

On February 7, 1969, LeRoy was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Schuft at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. After their marriage, the couple resided in Gaylord for about 10 years, and then moved to his family farm in 1982. LeRoy was employed for RCM/SEH as a land surveyor, retiring in 1999.
