Marvin Stolt

Obituary

Marvin Gerhart Stolt was born on February 7, 1941, at his parent's home in rural Courtland, Nicollet County, Minnesota. He was the son of Herbert and Ella (Fahning) Stolt. Marvin was baptized as an infant on February 16, 1941, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 3, 1955, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland, Minnesota. He received his elementary education at the country school at Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School, Courtland and he attended Nicollet High School and the Southern School of Agriculture in Waseca, Minnesota, where he received an Agriculture Degree.

On October 29, 1960, Marvin was united in marriage to Vera Mae Guse at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland. This marriage was blessed with five children, Brenda, Brian, Allen, Bradley and Barbara. Marvin and Vera resided in Janesville, Minnesota. They later purchased a farm in Sedan, Minnesota, and built their retirement home on Lake Addie, near Brownton, Minnesota. Marvin and Vera shared 55 years of marriage.

Marvin owned and operated his own construction company in Janesville. He also worked for Cecil Meyer, driving semi, and most recently, Marvin was employed at the Knife River Corp Inc., as a cement truck driver. Marvin was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota, where he was active on the finance board.

In Marvin's younger years, he roller skated at many shows. He also had a team of horses which he drove in many parades and weddings. Marvin enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren with their many projects. He especially cherished spending time with his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

Marvin passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016, in Becker, Minnesota, at the age of 75 years.
