Merva L. Burich

Obituary

Merva Lucille Burich was born on December 26, 1930, in Arlington, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Herman and Emma (Brockoff) Quast. Merva was baptized as an infant in Arlington, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate with the Hutchinson High School class of 1948. Merva furthered her education as a beautician at Beauty School in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

On June 16, 1955, Merva was united in marriage to Milan “Mike” Burich at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with two children, Terry and Kevin. Merva and Milan resided in Hutchinson. They shared 56 years of marriage before the passing of Milan on September 2, 2012.

Merva was employed as a hair stylist in Hutchinson for many years. She also worked at 3M and at Zeleny’s Dime Store in Hutchinson before retiring in 1990. Merva was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson.

Merva enjoyed dancing, roller skating, ice skating, and crocheting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Merva passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, at the age of 91 years.

Sister, Beverly Szymokwicz and her husband, Andrew of Vernon-Rockville, CT;
Many other relatives and friends.

Merva is preceded in death by her Parents, Herman and Emma Quast; Husband, Milan Burich; Daughter-in-law, Lori Burich; Sisters, Ruth Peterson and her husband, Milan, Irma Bursch and her husband, Willis, Dolores Maher and her husband, Merle; Brother-in-law, Kenneth Healy.
