Beatrice “Bea” H. Schuette

Obituary

Beatrice “Bea”  Hildegard Schuette was born on December 19, 1930, in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Alvin and Hildegard (Oestreich) Zettler. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in St. Paul, Minnesota. She attended grade school in St. Paul and graduated with the Mechanic Arts High School class of 1948 in St. Paul. She continued her education at the University of Minnesota for 2 ½ years.

On November 29, 1952, Bea was united in marriage to Howard Schuette at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ on Summit Avenue in St. Paul, Minnesota. The couple made their home on the family farm in Plato. Bea and Howard’s marriage was blessed with five children, Lynn, Diane, Steven, Jeffrey, and Julie. They shared more than 67 years of marriage together until Howard passed away on September 18, 2020.

Bea was a loving mother and homemaker. She helped Howard on the farm when assistance was needed. Bea was employed at Starkey’s in Glencoe, Minnesota until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Plato and the Women’s Guild.

Bea enjoyed painting, quilting, and tending to her plants. Never one to remain idle for long, she also enjoyed bowling, bicycling, golfing, and fishing. Bea truly cherished spending time with her family and her friends.

Bea passed away on March 10, 2023, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, Minnesota at the age of 92. Blessed be her memory.
