Obituary

Christine “Chris” Marie Johnson was born on November 4, 1928, in Montevideo, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Joe and Marie (Pederson) Caspers. Chris was baptized as an infant on January 6, 1929, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 14, 1944. She received her education in Bird Island, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Bird Island High School Class of 1946. Chris furthered her education to become a Medical Lab Technician.

On November 20, 1953, Christine was united in marriage to Eugene “Gene” Johnson at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bird Island, Minnesota. To her family, Chris was known for her cookies (especially her sugar cookies), cinnamon rolls, and monkey bumps. She also made a flannel blanket for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Chris loved them dearly and always looked forward to their visits.

When Chris needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center on July 27, 2015. She was called home by Jesus Christ, the Son of God, on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the age of 94 years.

Blessed be her memory.

My sincere condolences to all the Johnson Family. I have so many wonderful memories of your Mom, but I also know being with your Dad is where she loved to be. When we were all younger her focus was always on her children. Know she loved each of you. Family was her heart and together you will keep her heart going!

Her Alabama Nephews remember Aunt Chris very fondly. We were all blessed to enjoy our times with she and the entire family.
