Janice “Jan” A. Nelson, age 64, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Gathering of friends and family will be Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M., at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
Obituary
Janice "Jan" Ann Nelson was born on June 13, 1951, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Richard and Elda (Marks) Rannow. Jan was baptized as an infant, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1969.
On November 6, 1971, Jan was united in marriage to Donald Nelson at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Jan and Donald resided in Glencoe, Minnesota for 6 years, and later moved to Hutchinson. They shared 44 years of marriage.
Jan was employed the 3M Company in Hutchinson for 38 years. She retired in 2009.
Jan enjoyed cooking, baking and collecting cookbooks. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Jan passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 64 years.

Jan is preceded in death by her Parents, Richard and Elda Rannow.
