Beverly Mae Mellgren

Obituary

Beverly Mae (Lingen) Mellgren was born on September 20, 1931, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She was the daughter of Wallace and Mabel (Anderson) Lingen. Beverly grew up in Minneapolis and received her education there. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with the class of 1949.

Beverly was united in marriage to Warren “Emil” Mellgren on January 5, 1951, at Minnehaha Lutheran Church in Minneapolis by Reverend Tenor Thompson. To this union, there were five children, Kathy, Dale, Kris, Doug, and Dan. Beverly lived in Alabama while Warren was stationed at Fort Rucker. Following Warren’s end of service, Beverly and her family moved to Richfield, Minnesota, and later Lindstrom, Minnesota. In 1969, they moved south of Bongards, and in 1971 they moved to a farm north of Bongards which is where they lived ever since. The couple shared over 51 years together until Warren passed away on August 30, 2002.

Beverly was loving mother, homemaker, and helper on the farm. When she was not caring for her children and her homestead, she worked part-time at Dueber’s in Waconia, Minnesota. Beverly was an active member at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bongards, Minnesota. She was a part of the church choir as well as the Norwood choir for over 42 years.

Beverly and Warren never missed the county or state fair, she enjoyed volunteering her time at the county fair, helping wherever she was needed. Beverly had a love for all animals, when at the fairs she would make sure she visited each and every barn. Time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was cherished greatly.

Beverly entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at her home in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, at the age of 91 years. Blessed be her memory.
