Thomas “Tom” George Feltmann, age 80, of Lester Prairie, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center in Arlington, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023, 11:00 A.M., at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, with interment at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Thomas “Tom” George Feltmann was born on December 16, 1942, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was the son of George and Lenora (Schilling) Feltmann. Tom was baptized as an infant on January 3, 1943, by Pastor H.R. Burkett and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on March 25, 1956, by Pastor Walter Fischer, both at the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Lester Prairie. He received his education in Silver Lake from 1948-1952, then District #5 in Lester Prairie from 1952-1954, and then District #424 in Lester Prairie, and was a graduate of the Lester Prairie High School Class of 1960. Throughout High School, Tom enjoyed playing sports.
Tom served his country in the United States National Guard from 1961-1965.
On September 25, 1965, Tom was united in marriage to Annette Breyer by Pastor Wolfgang Webern at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. After their marriage, the couple resided in Bergen Township near Lester Prairie. Tom and Annette were blessed with three children. Tom was self-employed as a small engine mechanic. He was also a truck driver as well as a school bus driver. Tom and Annette shared almost 58 years of marriage.
Tom was an active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie; he was trustee on the church board, served as an usher, and was a part of the church choir for many years.
Tom loved spending time outdoors. Whether he was fishing and supplying his family with fish, hunting, or cutting wood for campfires and to heat the house. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and watching Minnesota sports, especially the Vikings and the Twins. Tom spent many weekends at their cabin retreat near Mille Lacs Lake for the last 30 years. Tom cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He went to many of his children and grandchildren’s events.
Tom passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center in Arlington at the age of 80 years. Blessed be his memory.

Children, Peter Feltmann and his wife, Christine of Lester Prairie, MN,
Patrick Feltmann of Lester Prairie, MN, and
Sara Bauer and her husband, Peter of Eagan, MN;
Grandchildren, Alyson Feltmann and her fiancée, Chad Wagley, Brendan Feltmann, Katelyn Feltmann and Special Friend, Zander Monroe;
Sister, Heidi Wieman and her husband, Allen of Arlington, MN;
Brother, Eugene Feltmann and his wife JoAnn of New Germany, MN;
Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law, Clarice Heckmann and her husband, Dan of Apple Valley, MN, and Lorna Brinkman of Glencoe, MN;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his Parents, George and Lenora Feltmann; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Otto and Viola Breyer; Brother-in-law, Leon Brinkman; Niece, Amy Brinkman.

Feltmann family. So sorry to hear of Tommy’s passing. He was good friends with my dad and I remember fondly going out to his shop whenever we needed help fixing a small engine or buying a chainsaw.

I haven’t seen your dad in a number of years, but when I hear/read his name, it instantly takes me back to “Tommy’s Shop.” Growing up, my brothers, Dad & I usually cut firewood this time of year, but not before taking the chainsaws out to your Dad for a little TLC first! Good childhood memories.
