Carole J. Hannemann

Obituary

Carole June Hannemann was born on May 8, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of Reverend Andrew J.H. and Ola (Frey) Frinke. Carole was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Depew, New York, and was Salutorian of the Depew High School Class of 1952. Carole furthered her education at The University of Rochester in New York, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Master of Arts Degree in history.

On September 3, 1960, Carole was united in marriage to Reverend Herman Hannemann at Grace Lutheran Church in Broomall, Pennsylvania. This marriage was blessed with four children, Andrew, Alan, Amy, and Anthony. Carole and Herman resided in Hutchinson, Minnesota. They shared 62 years of marriage until Herman passed away on November 4, 2022.

Carole taught three years at two Lutheran High Schools in the St. Louis area. She also taught at a Lutheran High School in St. Paul, Minnesota. Carole worked at Young America Corp for 8 years, and Hager Jewelry in Hutchinson, in addition to giving piano lessons at home, before retiring in 2012. She was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, serving in the church choir and playing organ.

Carole enjoyed singing and was part of the Austin Symphony Chorus as well as the Hutchinson Community Chorus. She also enjoyed playing cards, sewing, and decorating her home. Carole especially cherished time spent with her family, grandchildren and friends.

Carole passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, at the age of 88 years.
