Jerome Frank Warzecha, age 85, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Lakeside Generations Assisted Living in Dassel, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 2, 2024, 1:00 P.M., at the Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Johnson McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, and will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Obituary
Jerome Frank Warzecha was born February 4, 1938, in Pierz, Minnesota, on the family farm. He was the son of Sebastian and Theresa (Huver) Warzecha. Jerome was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth both at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup, Minnesota. He first attended the local country school and then completed school through the 8th grade at St. Joseph Catholic School in Pierz.
Jerome was united in marriage to Marlys Adeline Harbarth on May 29, 1965, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Gaylord, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Karen and Larry. Jerome and Marlys shared over 58 years together.
Jerome was first employed at Larson Boat Company in Little Falls, Minnesota, building boats for 6 years. He then moved to Glencoe and worked for Earl Longhenry on his farm. Following that he was employed at Fur Foods in Glencoe. A couple of years later, Jerome began working for Glencoe Butter & Produce in Glencoe and worked there for 35 years, and in 2000 he retired. Not one to stay still for long, he began working at Mark’s Econo-mart in Glencoe for a few years which he said was “his favorite job ever.”
Jerome was a faithful member of St. George Catholic Church in Glencoe until it closed, and joined the Church of St. Pius X soon thereafter.
Jerome could be described as the kindest, most gentle, and caring man. He loved to play all kinds of games with his children and later with his grandchildren. He loved to take the kids on bike rides, to the pool, and to play at the park. Jerome also loved taking them all to the Dairy Queen for treats. Jerome liked to go fishing and hunting. He enjoyed snowmobiling and going for rides on Larry’s Gold Wing motorcycle with Larry. He also enjoyed cheering on the Minnesota Twins. Spending time with family was important to him, and he cherished that time greatly.
Jerome passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Lakeside Generations Assisted Living in Dassel at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 23 days. Blessed be his memory.

Great-Grandchildren, MaKynna Breyer, MaKayla Breyer, Mackenzie Breyer, Jordan Breyer, Charlotte Garaghty;
Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law, Lois Urban, Doris Will, Marlyn Bacon and his wife, Laurie;
Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives, and Friends.
Jerome was preceded in death by his Parents, Sebastian and Theresa Warzecha; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Alvin and Eileen Harbarth; Daughter, Karen Wimsatt and her husband, Peter; Brother, Marvin Warzecha and his wife, Sandy; Sister, Alice Krottoschinsky and her husband, Richard; Brothers-in-law, Ray Przybilla, Gerald Urban; Sister-in-law, Mavis Frauendienst and her husband, Edwin.
