Obituary
Robert “Bob” Lee Dietz was born on July 2, 1943, in Winnebago, Minnesota to Margaret (Reich) and Ivan Dietz. He was confirmed in his faith on November 10, 1957, at Zion Lutheran Church, Rake, Iowa. Growing up, he attended several different schools and graduated from Ada High School in 1961.
On April 10, 1963, Bob married Marsha Kulland at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Sueur, Minnesota. They made their first home in Savage, Minnesota, before moving to Bloomington, Minnesota, in 1970 and later relocating to Hutchinson, Minnesota, in 1994. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Kimberly Ann, Kelly Jean, and Kyle Robert. Last spring, they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.
Bob spent his career as a manufacturing engineer for Control Data, Nortronics, and Spectralytics, retiring in 2015. He was fascinated with what technology engineers could design and how it could be manufactured and put into daily use. He loved to spend time in his garage, tinkering on whatever needed fixing.
Bob had a lifelong love for cars, snowmobiles, and guitars. He enjoyed going to car shows, We Fest, and grabbing a Budweiser and chicken drummies at a good dive bar and talking smart. He loved music, especially Waylon, Willie, Johnny, and Merle. Some of his best times were snowmobiling with his brother, sons-in-law, and grandkids. I am very sorry for your families loss. I had good fortune to meet Bob 20+ years ago when he and his brother( I believe) came snowmobiling to the local bar I worked at. For many years to come Bob came to visit on Saturdays for drummies and a Budwieser lol. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet some of his family and consider them friends as well. Thank you Bob for that.
Rest easy my friend .
