Joyce A. Langert, age 88, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024, at GlenFields Living With Care in Glencoe.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 11:00 A.M., at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at the Fairview Cemetery in Mound, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M., 1 hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Obituary
Joyce Ann Langert was born on July 14, 1935, at home on the farm in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Joseph C. and Olive (Bruhn) Weiland. She received her education in Waconia, Minnesota, and graduated with the Waconia High School class of 1954.
On July 29, 1957, Joyce was united in marriage to Donald Langert at the Minnetrista Baptist Church in Minnetrista, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with four children, Joseph, Sally, Timothy, and Joy. They made their home in Maple Plain, Minnesota and later moved to Glencoe, Minnesota.
Joyce was employed as a Bank Teller at a bank in Mound, Minnesota. After her children were born, Joyce made the decision to stay home and raise her children. Years later, Joyce drove bus at the Hanus Busing Company in Orono, Minnesota, and after the couple moved to Glencoe, she joined her husband Don and was a van driver for the Glencoe-Silver Lake School District. Joyce was an active member for many years at Fairview Covenant Church in Minnetrista and served as a Sunday School Teacher.
Joyce loved spending time outdoors tending to her gardens and listening to the birds. She enjoyed being a part of the local Garden Club. Joyce kept a tidy home and looked forward to decorating for the holidays. Every year on her birthday, she took a trip up to St. Cloud, Minnesota, to visit Munsinger Gardens and get lunch at the Old Country Buffet. Joyce loved her animals. Every Sunday, Joyce invited the family over to spend time together and eat pizza, and play Bingo. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and looked forward to hearing her grandsons’ fishing stories; asking that they bring their fish home to fry up for supper. Joyce greatly cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
In October of 2022, Joyce and Don moved to GlenFields Living With Care in Glencoe. Joyce participated in all the activities that GlenFields offered such as; Bingo, arts/crafts, and dice, and on Saturdays, she would enjoy listening to the music held there. Joyce passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, at GlenFields Living With Care at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 7 days. Blessed be her memory.

Great-Grandchildren, Ashley Jasken, Emily (fiancé, Will Sanchez) Jasken, Kayla Stowell, Candace Ryan, Scott Wolfe, Zoe Wolfe, Olivia Mackenthun, Clara Mackenthun, Jace McCormick, Silas McCormick, Rye McCormick, Leeland Langert, Wyatt Langert, Oliver Langert;
