Sharon Grochow, age 81, of Gaylord passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Bayside Manor in Gaylord.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 10, 2024, 11:00 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Gaylord, Minnesota, with interment in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Mountville, Dryden Township, Sibley County, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be one hour prior to the service, ALL at church.
Obituary
Sharon Katherine Grochow was born on February 10, 1943, in New Ulm, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Angeline (Huhn) Rathmann. Sharon was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Gibbon and was a graduate of the Gibbon High School Class of 1961.
On May 25, 1968, Sharon was united in marriage to Maynard Grochow. After their marriage, the couple resided in Gaylord. Sharon was employed in production at Michael Foods in Gaylord. Sharon and Maynard shared 48 years of marriage when Maynard passed away on January 3, 2017.
Sharon was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Gaylord.
Sharon enjoyed gaming at casinos, reading, fishing, raising flowers, garage sales, and traveling. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
When she needed assistance with her daily care, Sharon became a resident of Bayside Manor in Gaylord and passed away there on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the age of 81 years. Blessed be her memory.
Sharon is survived by her:
Sister, Rosemary Vait of New Ulm, MN;
Brother, Larry Rathmann of New Ulm, MN;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her Parents, Benjamin and Angeline Rathmann; Husband, Maynard Grochow; Sister, Judith Rathmann; Brother-in-law, Wilford and Dorothy Grochow and LeRoy Vait; Sister-in-law, Linda Rathmann.
