Service Information

Mary Lou Huiras, age 70, of Fairfax passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, September 3rd, 10:30 A.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax.

Gathering of Family and Friends will be Wednesday, September 2nd, from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax. There will be a Prayer Service at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Gathering of Family and Friends will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Obituary

Mary Lou (Kokesch) Huiras was born on November 27, 1944, in New Ulm, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Adolph and Myra (Grosam) Kokesch. Mary Lou was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education at St. George’s Parochial School and was a graduate of the Gibbon High School.

On September 8, 1962, Mary Lou was united in marriage to Roman Huiras at St. George Catholic Church. After their marriage, the couple resided in Fairfax. She owned and operated the flower shop in Franklin for 22 years. She was a loving wife and mother. Mary Lou and Roman were blessed with three children and they shared 52 years of marriage.

Mary Lou was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax, the CCW, school board member for St. Andrew’s and helped with the St. Andrew’s Festival. She was also a 4-H Club adult leader.

Mary Lou enjoyed flowers, knitting, loons, birds, fishing and visiting with people. She loved spending time with her six grandchildren, watching them play ball, selling pumpkins, going to Farm Fest, and spending Christmas with them.

Mary Lou passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee at the age of 70 years. Blessed be her memory.

Mary Lou is survived by her:

Husband,         Roman Huiras of Fairfax, MN;

Children,          Mark (Deb) Huiras of Fairfax, MN,

                        Kathy Huiras of Kandiyohi, MN, and

                        Todd (Julie) Huiras of Fairfax, MN;

7 Grandchildren, Jared Koupal, Cody Huiras, Nolan Huiras, Claire Huiras, Kyle Huiras, Reeve Huiras and Cole Huiras;

Siblings, Vernus Kokesch of Hutchinson, MN, John (Delores) Kokesch of Franklin, MN, Dave (Delores) Kokesch of Gibbon, MN, and Barbara (Ervin) Windschitl of Sleepy Eye, MN;

Tipper the dog;

Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her Parents, Adolph and Myra Kokesch; Parents-In-Law, Roman Sr. and Gertrude Huiras; Brothers, George Kokesch and Willard Kokesch; Nieces and Nephews.
