Service Information

Bernice “Bernie” Schlueter Ulrich, age 68, of Hutchinson and Cedar Mills, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Cokato Manor in Cokato, Minnesota.

Memorial Service will be Wednesday, January 22, 2025, 11:00 A.M., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cedar Mills Township, Minnesota, with interment in the church cemetery.

Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 9:30-11:00 A.M., 1 ½ hours prior to the service at the church.

Obituary

Bernice “Bernie” Joy Schlueter Ulrich was born on May 25, 1956, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Elmer and Arliss (Iverson) Schlueter. Bernie was baptized as an infant on June 7, 1956, at home and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 17, 1970, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township, Minnesota. She received her education through the eighth grade at St. John’s Parochial School in Cedar Mills Township. Bernie transferred to Hutchinson High School in Hutchinson in the ninth grade. She was a graduate with the class of 1974.

On August 29, 1987, Bernie was united in marriage to Randy Ulrich. This marriage was blessed with one daughter, Emily. Bernie resided in Hutchinson and the Cedar Mills area.

Bernie was employed at various local businesses including Pamida, VFW Post 906, Cash Wise and Walmart. She was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township.

Bernie enjoyed browsing garage sales and reading. She especially cherished time spent playing cards and visiting with her family and friends.

Bernie passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Cokato Manor in Cokato, Minnesota, at the age of 68 years.

Siblings, Darryl Schlueter of Litchfield, MN,
Marcella Westlund of Litchfield, MN,
Barbara Rannow and her husband, Eugene of Litchfield, MN;
Great Nephew, Brady Sohns of Brownton, MN;
Many cousins, other relatives and friends.

Bernie is preceded in death by her Parents, Elmer A. and Arliss Schlueter; Daughter, Emily Ulrich; Sister, in infancy; Brother-in-law, Wayne Westlund; Niece, Dawn Westlund.

    Bernie will be greatly missed by all of us. She was such a nice person to be around. Always came up and talked to me when I would see her. Even though I didn’t get to see her all of the times that I went to visit Marcy and her Daughter Dawn. I have know Bernie since I was 16years old. She was such a wonderful person.

    Barb, Marcy and Darryl, Bob and I are sending our sympathy to you folks. As you probably know, Bob hasn’t been doing well,so we won’t be able to attend Bernie’s service.

    Darryl, Barb and Marcy–Sending my sympathy to all of you for the loss of Bernie. She was a sweet gal with a kind heart.
    May you cherish all the wonderful memories of her and hold them close to your heart. I haven’t seen her for many years, but we got Confirmed together at St. John’s Church a lot of years ago! May God Bless all of you and her memory. RIP Bernie.
