Service Information
Gladys H. Braun, age 86, of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held Monday, March 3, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America, with interment following in the church cemetery.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Gladys Hilda (Schmidt) Braun was born on February 3, 1939, at home in Norwood Young America, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Abe and Mathilda (Kamps) Schmidt. Gladys was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth both at St. Paul’s Ev. Reform Church in Hamburg, Minnesota. Gladys received her education from the Central School District in Norwood Young America.
On December 17, 1956, Gladys was united in marriage to Roger Braun at the St. Paul’s Ev. Reformed Church of Hamburg. The couple made their home in Henderson and Green Isle before moving to Young America in 1981. Gladys and Roger were blessed with 8 children; Ricky, Curtis, Susan, Terry, Dawn, Michelle, Jodi, and Nathan.
Gladys was employed at Hillcrest Café and Catering in Hamburg, Minnesota for over 30 years.
Gladys enjoyed shopping and visiting with friends and family. Gladys also enjoyed cheering on her Minnesota Twins.
Gladys passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, at the age of 86 years.

Gladys was preceded in death by her Husband, Roger Braun; Son, Ricky Lee Braun; Daughter, Dawn Klitzke; Parents, Abe and Mathilda Schmidt; Sons-in-law, Duane Enbom, Aaron Goette; Siblings, Lorena (Lawrence) Herrmann, Orville Schmidt, Elford (Esther) Schmidt, Gilbert (Lorraine) Schmidt, and Bill Schmidt.
