Service Information
Ordella A. Schmidt, age 94, formerly of Young America, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at The Estates at Excelsior in Excelsior, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 A.M., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Ordella Alwina Schmidt was born on July 25, 1930, in Green Isle Township, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Henry and Alwina (Teltoester) Lindemeier. Ordella was baptized as an infant on August 17, 1930, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth in April of 1944, both at Zion Lutheran Church in Green Isle Township. She received her education in Glencoe, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Glencoe High School class of 1947.
On June 19, 1962, Ordella was united in marriage to Norman Schmidt at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Young America, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with four children, Keith, Kenneth, Keri and Kert. Ordella and Norman made their home in Young America, Minnesota. They shared 26 years of marriage until the passing of Norman on May 14, 1989.
Ordella was employed in the factory at HEI Inc in Victoria, Minnesota. She retired in 1997. Ordella was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota. She was also a member of Young America VFW Auxiliary and often volunteered in the popcorn stand for the Young America baseball team.
Ordella enjoyed quilting, sewing, dancing, music, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Ordella passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at The Estates at Excelsior in Excelsior, Minnesota, at the age of 94 years,

Sister-in-law, Shirley Fitzpatrick of Green Isle, MN;
