Myron “Mark” Marquardt, age 88, of Fairfax passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Ridgeway on 23rd in New Ulm, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 31, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in interment in the church cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M., two hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Military Honors by the Fairfax Honor Guard.
Obituary
Myron “Mark” Duane Marquardt was born on January 4, 1937, in Cedar Mills Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. He was the son of Arnold and Martha (Bunke) Marquardt. Mark was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at First Lutheran Church in Cosmos, Minnesota. He received his education in Litchfield and was a graduate of the Litchfield High School class of 1954. He furthered his education at Moler Barber School graduating in 1963.
On December 9, 1955, Mark enlisted in the United States Navy and spent his time on Kodiak Island in Alaska. He was trained as a medic and worked in the base hospital. Mark was Honorably Discharged in August 1957.
On October 18, 1958, Mark was united in marriage to Doris Linder at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple resided in Mankato, Cambridge and Fairfax.
They were blessed with four children, Brian, Judi, Chris and Vickie. Mark owned and operated The Mark IV Barber Shop in Fairfax. Mark and Doris shared 66 years of marriage.
Mark was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax and served on the church and school board. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #205 in Fairfax for 60 years and held several offices. Mark was a member of the Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department, an EMT, and the C&C (Civic and Commerce).
Mark enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, camping, golfing, and traveling. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
When he needed assistance with his care, Mark became a resident of Ridgeway on 23rd in New Ulm and passed away there on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the age 88 years. Blessed be his memory.

Grandchildren, Shawn Marquardt, Tara Marquardt, Kelsey Vorwerk, Brittany Jackson, Kristin Ikert, Mitchel Lang, Stephani Jandl, Whitney Jandl, Melanie Anderson, Jacob Davidson, Malorie Sanderson;
Great-grandchildren, Greta, Otis, Aviana, Gus, Cora, Chloe, Evelyn, Drake, Kellen, Addilynn, Emerson, Charli, Theo and Finn;
Sister, Marlene Herzog of Litchfield, MN;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his Parents, Arnold and Martha Marquardt; Great-grandson, Zevian Toffolla; Brothers, Kenneth Marquardt, Alvin Marquardt, and Mel Marquardt; Brother-in-law, Don Herzog; Sister-in-law, Marge Marquardt.
