Service Information
Wilbert A. Hildebrandt, age 91, of Gaylord, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at his home.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Wilbert August Hildebrandt was born on October 18, 1933, at home in Sibley Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. He was the son of August and Lena (Meyer) Hildebrandt. Wilbert was baptized as an infant on November 5, 1933, in their home, and later confirmed in his faith as a youth on March 30, 1947 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, Minnesota. He attended Pleasant Grove School District #36 in Sibley Townhip. At the young age of 11, Wilbert contracted Polio, preventing from attending school for a year. The doctors encouraged his family keep him active in order to minimize the effects of the disease so he was able to pursue farming.
On September 6, 1956, Wilbert was united in marriage to Arlene Zamzow at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Morgan, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two children, Donna and LeRoy. Wilbert and Arlene resided in rural Gaylord, Sibley Township on their farm. They shared 60 years of marriage prior to the passing of Arlene on June 16, 2017.
Wilbert was a dedicated, hardworking, life-long farmer, farming until the age of 84. He raised, milk and beef cattle, hogs, and chickens, as well as crops of corn, beans, oats, and hay. Wilbert was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord.
Wilbert enjoyed gardening and cutting wood. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Wilbert passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at his home in Gaylord, at the age of 91 years.

Daughter, Donna Ulrich of Gaylord, MN;
Son, LeRoy Hildebrandt of San Marcos, TX;
Grandson, Travis Ulrich of Mankato, MN;
Great-granddaughters, Amelia Ulrich and Juliet Ulrich of Elmore, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Wilbert is preceded in death by his Parents, August and Lena Hildebrandt; Wife, Arlene Hildebrandt; Father- and Mother-in-law, Elmer and Martha Zamzow; Sister, Cecilia Hildebrandt in infancy; Brothers-in-law, Elmer (Edna) Zamzow, Ivan Zamzow; Sisters-in-law, Verona (Wesley) Johnson, Lorraine (Orville) Hildebrandt, Laverne Zamzow in infancy; Son-in-law, Matthew Ulrich.
