Howard E. Bulau, age 85, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, at Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, 11:00 A.M., at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Glencoe, with interment following in the Glencoe City Cemetery in Glencoe.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M., at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, and will continue 1 ½ hours prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Obituary
Howard Edwin Bulau was born on December 13, 1939, in Brookfield Township, Renville County, Minnesota. He was the son of Edwin and Iona (Milbrandt) Bulau. Howard was baptized as an infant at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bellingham, Minnesota, and later confirmed in his faith as a youth on June 21, 1953, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. His confirmation verse was John 3:13. Howard received his education at a country school near Buffalo Lake, then public school in Buffalo Lake, and went one year at Brownton Public School, through the eighth grade.
On February 15, 1962, Howard entered military service with the United States Navy at the U. S. Naval Reserve Manpower Center in Bainbridge, Maryland. He held the rank of BT3 (E-4). In 1965, Howard was released from active duty and transferred to the Naval Reserve, where he served until 1968. Howard received an Honorable Discharge.
On June 26, 1965, Howard was united in marriage to Paula Lambertson at Stewart Methodist Church in Stewart, Minnesota. Together, they made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. They were blessed with two sons: Kevin and Todd. Howard was employed at Polyfoam in Lester Prairie for 40 years. The couple shared just shy of 60 years together.
Howard was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Glencoe. He served as a deacon and trustee for a number of years there. Howard was also a member of the Brownton Legion for more than 55 years.
Howard enjoyed time spent outdoors fishing and hunting. Howard loved to cook, and he was always put in charge of frying up the fish that were caught. He and Paula enjoyed traveling around the country and vacationing. He also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and socializing with friends. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was time he cherished most.
Howard passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield, at the age of 85 years, 6 months, and 3 days. Blessed be his memory.

Great-Grandchildren, Brock and Raelyn Schauer, Colton and Gage Kennedy;
Siblings, Leslie Bulau and his wife, Mary, Barb Bahr, and Douglas Bulau;
Sister-in-law, Judy Bulau;
Nieces, Nephews, Other relatives, and Friends.
Howard was preceded in death by Father and Mother, Edwin and Iona Bulau; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Ray and Viv Lambertson; Brother, Ralph Bulau; Brother-in-law, Gene Bahr; Niece, Kelly Buechler.
