Service Information

Bruce E. Goette, age 76, of Arlington, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at his home.

Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025, 11:00 A.M., at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Helen Township, with interment following in the church cemetery.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Monday, July 7, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 P.M., at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Military Honors by the Glencoe Military Honor Guard.

Obituary

Bruce Eugene Goette was born on July 11, 1948, in Morris, Minnesota. He was the son of Eugene and Delores (Trienen) Goette. Bruce was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Morris, Minnesota. He received his education in Morris and graduated from Morris Area High School with the class of 1966. Bruce continued his education at St. Cloud Vocational and earned a degree in Heavy Equipment.

Bruce entered military service with the United States Army on April 23, 1968. He served as a Private (E-2). He was presented with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 DVC, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal, and the Marksman and Sharpshooter Medals. Bruce received an honorable discharge on May 8, 1970.

Bruce was united in marriage to Donna Jean Logan on August 26, 1970, in Morris, Minnesota. The couple was blessed with 6 children: Aaron, Leah, Shem, Jael, Jamin, and Zachariah. The family made their home on a farm near Green Isle, Minnesota. Bruce and Donna shared over 54 years together.

Bruce was employed at Lano Equipment in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, for over 42 years as a farm equipment mechanic. He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Helen Township, Minnesota.

Bruce enjoyed time outdoors, hunting, fishing, tending to his garden, and doing yard work. He also enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Bruce passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at his home in Arlington, Minnesota, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, 18 days.

               Shem Goette of Rochester, MN,
               Jael Schmieg and her husband, David, of Glencoe, MN,
               Jamin Goette and his wife, Maria, of Faribault, MN,
               Zach Goette and his wife, Theresa, of Green Isle, MN;
Daughter-in-law, Michelle Goette of Norwood Young America, MN;
Grandchildren, Shay Goette, Mariah Goette, Anthony (Tiffany) Roush, Samantha (Dakota) Damlow, Kristina Roush, Logan Goette, Caleb Goette, Benjamin Goette, Blake Schmieg, Taylor Schmieg, Owen Schmieg, Emma Schmieg, Carlos Goette;
Step-Grandchildren, Michael Schultz and his wife Ashley, Jessica Wills and her husband, Mike;
Great-Grandchildren;
Siblings, Glen Goette and his wife, Linda, of SC, Henry Goette and his wife, Tammy, of Chokio, MN;
Nieces and Nephews, Other Relatives, and Friends.

Bruce was preceded in death by his Son, Aaron Goette; Father and Mother, Eugene and Delores Goette; Siblings, Diane Garcia, Lee Goette, and his wife, Laurie; and Brother-in-law, Tom Logan.
