Service Information

Norman L. Bohn, age 84, husband of Marlene, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, July 15, 2025, 11:00 A.M, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Minnesota, with interment at a later date in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, Minnesota.

Visitation will be Monday, July 14, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 P.M., at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Military Honors by the Hutchinson Memorial Rifle Squad.

Obituary

Norman Leslie Bohn was born on March 29, 1941, in Litchfield, Minnesota. He was the son of Earl and Doris (Nelson) Bohn. Norman was baptized as an infant at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills, Minnesota, and later confirmed in his faith as a youth at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He received his education in Litchfield and was a graduate of the Litchfield High School class of 1959.

Norman entered active military service in the United States Army on August 18, 1959, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He transferred to the United States Army Reserves on July 26, 1961, in Oakland, California. Norman received an honorable discharge on August 17, 1965, and achieve the rank of Private First Class.

On December 6, 1975, Norman was united in marriage to Marlene Peper at Beckville Lutheran Church in Beckville, Minnesota. Norman was blessed with one daughter, Michelle, and five step-children; Julie, Sharon, Roxanne, Michael and Lisa. They resided in Litchfield before making their home in Hutchinson. Norman and Marlene shared 49 years of marriage.

Norman was employed as a lineman and mechanic for Hutchinson Utilities. He retired in April, 2005. Norman was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield. He was also a member of the Cedar Mills Rod and Gun Club, Rock Mountain Elk Foundation, Gopher Campfire, American Legion Post 96, past Commander of VFW Post 906, 40 &8, and past Seam Squirrel of Cooties.

Norman enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Norman passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, at the age of 84 years.

Lisa Bibeau of Madison, WI;
Grandchildren, Joseph Tifft, Ryan (Shannon) Schoolmeesters, Emily (Shane) O’Sullivan, Dominic Schmidt, Zachary Nelson, Brittney Nelson, Colleen Bibeau, Chad Bibeau, Jeanna (Adam) Skebeau, Steven (Ashley) Olson, Katie (Ian) Brekke;
Great-grandchildren, Starsha Bibeau, Chrissy and Oliver Skebeau, Anya and Nora Schoolmeesters, Calvin, Rosemary and Penelope Brekke, Rory O’Sullivan, Eli Olson;
Brother, Kenneth Bohn and his wife, Lisa of Litchfield, MN;
Sisters, Diane Stone of Litchfield, MN,
Julie Fredrickson and her husband, Keith of Litchfield, MN;
Sister-in-law, Bonnie Bohn of Litchfield, MN;
Nephew, Chad (Stacey) Bohn;
Great-nephew, Kolton Bohn;
Many other relatives and friends.

Norman is preceded in death by his Parents, Earl and Doris Bohn; Brother, Richard Bohn; Brother-in-law, Alvin Stone; Great-granddaughter, Cora O’Sullivan; Step-son, Michael Bibeau.

    Norman Bohn, was good friend and a good soldier, who served his country well in Desert Storm with the 452D General Supply Company. He will be missed. Because of soldiers like him, this is so strong. I am sorry for his loss. God bless you Norman, see you in heaven someday!!!

    Cousin Norm and I kidded each other a lot when we were younger. I will truly miss him. Godspeed Norm.
