Obituary
Damian Denning Kinzler was born on April 20, 1995 in Willmar, Minnesota. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose kindness, humor, and adventurous spirit touched all who knew him. Damian had a remarkable ability to connect with people, offering a listening ear and a helping hand to anyone in need.
Damian’s passions included his family, his cats, playing video games, listening to podcasts, being an umpire, playing disc golf and anything sports-related. Damian loved music – singing, dancing and creating. He approached life with curiosity and enthusiasm. Whether working or playing, Damian brought joy and light to every moment.
Damian bravely battled through difficult personal struggles, always with the support of his loving family. Though times were not always easy, Damian knew that he was loved and cared for by those closest to him, and showed tremendous gratitude and strength throughout his life.
Damian is survived by his loving mother and father, Kirsten & Tim; siblings, Dominic, Devin (Brianna); grandparents, Dianne Erickson and Jim Eberhard, Marvin Kinzler; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Helen Kinzler, and maternal grandfather, Tom Erickson.
Damian will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kind heart, infectious laugh, unwavering loyalty, and always bringing joy. His presence in our lives was a gift, and his memory will remain in our hearts always.

Patti Hoerner says
Damian was amazing from the start, with incredible hair that stood straight up and a smile that very rarely left his face. He had that way of making you feel joyful and creatively would craft words and sing new songs from old tunes that sent us giggling. When he sold candy bars to get to Camp Foley in the sixth grade he would open one singing, ” I’ve got a golden ticket!” From Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. As he checked in with me in the classroom at NDMA throughout last year, he would connect that memory with a new tune or singing my favorite diddy. Well Damian, you have gotten the golden ticket. One you redeemed in peace, love, and hope in God who holds you now. We are heartbroken because we will miss you greatly. We hold great hope to see you again in heaven my friend. It was an honor to watch you grow and be apart of your life. We were blessed because God shared you with the world even though it was way too short. Gentle blessings my friend.

Dear Kirsten, Tim, Dominic, Devin and family. Damian will always hold a special place in our hearts as a friend of Matthew’s and “St. A’s Kid.” Damian was always a kind, warm hearted soul and we are so sorry that he is no longer here with us. Prayers to you all.

Oh Damian, my heart is so sad.
Damian was the kind of person who could walk into a room and make everything feel brighter just by being there. Everyone would be so excited that he showed up. His sarcasm and wit. Hilarious jokes.
He had this incredible ability to make you feel included. No matter who you were. It didn’t matter if you were shy, outgoing, or somewhere in between—he made you feel like you belonged. His hugs were a burst of warmth, a reminder that someone really cared.
Seriously such a sweet soul.
He had a way of filling a space with light. His laugh was contagious, his optimism was unstoppable, and even when things weren’t going well, he had a way of making you see the upside or at least share a laugh about the mess. He was always there to listen, to offer advice, or just to share a laugh about something ridiculous.
No matter what you were going through, he had your back. Even when the answers weren’t clear, he made sure you knew you were never alone. Whether it was school, life, or just navigating the everyday chaos.
So, to my friend—thank you for making life that much better. For the endless laughs, the late-night talks, and for showing everyone how to be kind, inclusive, and always real. You may not be here in person, but your spirit, your laughter, and your friendship will always be with us.
Until we meet again, my friend.

Tim and Kirsten, so sorry for the loss of your son. Was just looking up some former friends and neighbors and came across the obituary. You have my deepest sympathy. Kirsten, this is former neighbor Scott Marti, and Tim, many great memories playing softball with you and your brothers.
Kevin King says
All the memories I have of Damian are fond: his generalship in the Great Snowball War of 2007 (waged during recess at St. A’s), his ability to make me laugh (even when I shouldn’t, such as in the middle of a Christmas pageant), his creative imagination, and his ability to always be genuine. I’m very sorry for your loss, Kinzler family.
Kathy King says
Thinking of Damien brought one thing to mind….a bunch of Saint Anastasia boys in our green conversion van singing, “The Goofy Goober Song” from SpongeBob SquarePants. Damien leading the way. Praying that great memories will be of comfort to your family. Keeping your family close in our thoughts and prayers.
