Service Information

Orville E. Alsleben, age 92, of Winthrop passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 17, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop with interment in the Winthrop Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 9:30 A.M.-11:00 A.M., ALL at church.

Memorials preferred to Ecumen Oaks and Pines in Hutchinson, Minnesota, or a charity of your choice.

Obituary

Orville Elmer Edwin Alsleben was born on December 26, 1932, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Theodore and Lydia (Arlt) Alsleben. Orville was baptized as an infant on January 8, 1933, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 14, 1946, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. He received his education in Glencoe.

On November 17, 1950, Orville was united in marriage to Marion Krueger at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop. This marriage was blessed with three children, Randy, Rick and Dan. Orville and Marion resided in Winthrop. They shared 70 years of marriage when Marion passed away on May 15, 2021.

Orville was employed at Swenson Grocery in New Auburn, Reese’s Fairway in Winthrop, Midland Co-op, GTA Elevator and Dairy Farmers of America in Winthrop as a butter printer operator. He retired on January 1, 1995. After retirement he worked parttime at Hands, Inc. in Winthrop.

Orville was an active member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop and served on the church council. In the past, he was a member of the New Auburn Fire Department.

Orville loved fishing especially ice fishing, and watching sports. He was always looking for something to do and was very social. Orville loved spending time with his grandchildren taking them to Dairy Queen and Reese’s Fairway.

Orville passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, at the age of 92 years. Blessed be his memory.

Children, Randy Alsleben and his wife, Martha of New London, MN,
Rick Alsleben of Hutchinson, MN,
Dan Alsleben and his wife, Debra of New Ulm, MN;
Grandchildren, Adam Alsleben and his wife, Christy, Megan McGill and her husband, Darren, Alison Alsleben and her husband, Michael Langford, Abbey Owen and her husband, Brian, Melissa Kielty and her husband, Tom, Michele Alsleben;
Great-grandchildren, Russell, Carl, Miles, Finn, Jackson, Madelyn, Shyla and special friend, Joseph T. Jordan Jr., Carter, Faith, and Hope;
Sister-in-law, Darlyne Franke and her husband, Wayne of Fridley, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.

Orville was preceded in death by his Parents, Theodore and Lydia Alsleben; Wife, Marion Alsleben; Sisters, Delma and Roland Krueger, and Lorraine and Roy Rennecke; Brother, Walter and Esther Alsleben.
