Susan "Sue" M. Johnson, age 67, wife of Doug, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 27, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson, with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Susan “Sue” Marie was born on December 15, 1957, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Thomas and Delores (Egan) Stafford. Sue was baptized as an infant in Fort Smith, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School class of 1976.
On September 30, 1989, Sue was united in marriage to Doug Johnson at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with one son, Andy. Sue and Doug made their home in rural Hutchinson. They shared 36 years of marriage.
Sue was employed at Hutchinson Health for 35 years as a Purchasing Agent. She was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson.
Sue enjoyed crocheting and sewing doll clothes, listening to her favorite records, collecting Santa Bears and Beanie Babies, spending time with her two Labs and her Corgi, going for walks, relaxing at the cabin, fishing, and taking her cherished yearly trips to Duluth, Minnesota, with her husband. She was generous and caring, always thinking of others and putting her family and friends first. Sue absolutely adored her son and was known for giving the very best Christmas gifts.
Sue passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, at the age of 67 years.

Sue is preceded in death by her Father, Tom Stafford; Grandparents, James and Bessie Stafford, Phil and Agnes Egan; Mother-in-law, Gertrude “Trudy” Johnson; Grandmother-in-law, Gretchen Stueber; Brother-in-law, Bruce Johnson; Dogs, Hunter and Bandit; many aunts and uncles.

My sincere sympathy to Sue’s entire family. I have so many fond memories of all the good times shared. We shared an apartment at Echo Circle and hosted Uno card game nights.
Sue always made the best baked tuna casserole. She was always very devoted to her position at the Hutchinson Hospital up to the day she retired. Heaven has gained another angel. Thanks for the memories that will never be forgotten.
