Obituary
Linda Rae (Stanley) Henningson was born March 1, 1949, in Ortonville, Minnesota, to Leonard and Verna Stanley. She was confirmed in her faith at Eidskog Lutheran Church and graduated from Ortonville High School. She was united in marriage to Milton Henningson on December 9, 1967, and blessed with five children, Michael, Melissa, Mark, Marci and Mitchell and seven grandchildren, Nathan, Rebecca, Alexis, Anna, Wyatt, Addison and Asher.
She held many jobs in her life, mainly the caretaker to her husband and children. She worked at Good Samaritan and even held the title of “pie lady” of Winthrop at Lyle’s Cafe and again at Hahn’s Dining and Lounge. She made the best coconut cream meringue pie around! She loved every moment of working across from her daughter for many years until her arthritis kept her from rolling pie dough anymore. As Marci says…my mom taught me everything I know and feeding my people is a privilege and honor, as it was hers.
She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids whether it be crafts, gardening, canning, making lefse, camping with her grandkids, trips to casinos with her daughters, spending time in her hometown of Ortonville to cook and take care of her husband and boys on hunting weekends, traveling to many places with Melissa and grand kids. She loved to bake pies, bars and cookies, cooking and entertaining for all holidays, spending time with her cousins and sisters-in-law, and old work friends. Growing up an only child she loved all the chaos there was with a big family!
She always said God had a plan. She courageously believed and honored that up until the end. She was at peace and excited to be with her boys again. Blessed be her memory.
Linda is survived by her:
husband, Milton;
her children, Mike, Melissa & her husband Bryce, Marci, and daughter-in-law Jodi;
grandchildren, Nathan, Rebecca & her husband Dane, Alexis, Anna, Wyatt, Addison & Asher.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard & Verna Stanley; her sister Carol who died in infancy; her parents in law, Raymond and Francis Henningson; and children, Mitchell Henningson and Mark Henningson.
