Obituary

Dolores MaryAnne Bohlinger was born on October 18, 1925, in Credit River, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Hugh and Elizabeth (Heller) Dawson. Dolores was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith at All Saints Catholic Church in Lakeville, Minnesota. She attended school in Lakeville and graduated with the Lakeville High School class of 1943.

On April 23, 1947, Dolores was united in marriage to Donald Anthony Bohlinger at All Saints Catholic Church in Lakeville. They made their family home in Young America, Minnesota. This union was blessed with 7 children: Anne Marie, Barbara Jean, Carolyn Lucille, Daniel Joseph, Eileen Kathryn, Frances Elizabeth, and Gerald Michael. Dolores and Don shared over 41 years of marriage when Don passed away on September 5, 1988.

Dolores was a faithful and active member of the Church of the Ascension in Norwood Young America. She served as the President of the Altar and Rosary Society for many years. She was also part of the church prayer chain, quilting circle, and taking care of the altar linens in church. Dolores found peace in praying with her rosary daily and attending Mass. Over the years, Dolores volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Stiftungsfest, and at the Willkommen Heritage and Preservation Society in Norwood Young America. She was also involved with AA. Dolores enjoyed traveling, spending time in her garden and pruning, sewing, and embroidering. She also enjoyed driving, writing letters, playing cards, painting, and baking chocolate chip cookies for family and friends. Dolores looked forward to going to the casino, visiting the elderly and sick, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. But she especially took great pleasure in throwing things away.

Dolores entered her eternal rest on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at St. Gertrude’s in Shakopee, at the age of 100 years, 1 month, and 20 days. Blessed be her memory.

Dolores is survived by her

Dolores was such a beautiful lady inside and out. Her kindness was incredible. We have known her since childhood and she was always ready to have a chat. Fly high Dolores and what a wonderful place to be at Christmas time. My sympathies for the entire Bohlinger family. Blessed be her memories……

I’m so sad to hear of Dolores’s passing. Such a wonderful lady. I worked with her at so many funerals and always looked forward to her whit! She was so funny at times. She kept us all busy and laughing. She had more energy than 10 other women. She was one of a kind and will be missed by many!!

After my Mom died, Dolores became my Dad, Bernie Shambour’s,
“ice cream girlfriend”. He’d pick her up & go to the Dairy Queen for an ice cream cone.
I smile thinking of them sharing ice cream and a laugh, with my Mom,
    up in heaven.

I can just see & hear my mom, Myrtle Buesgens, welcoming her to heaven. Those two “little ladies” had so much energy. Mom would have been 100 in 2025 too but we lost her at age 98. Thinking of you all at this difficult time. Heaven gained a beautiful angel.

Our sympathies to all of you on the loss of your mom. She was such an amazing lady, the best neighbor, and was like a grandma to Tiffany and Tabitha! They still talk about her chocolate chip cookies and how she always had one for them hiding in the freezer. We made a special trip out to see her in May just before we moved to AZ, and we had the best visit and so many laughs! She will be missed, thank you Carol for letting us know
