Service Information
Marjorie Joyce Aune, age 88, of Hutchinson, Minnesota passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Hutchinson Health.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. at the Harmony River Living Center Chapel in Hutchinson, with interment in Oakland Cemetery at a later date.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the Harmony River Living Center Chapel.
Obituary
Marjorie Joyce Aune was born on December 28, 1927, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Vernon and Joyce (Severson) Grant. Marjorie was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her Lutheran faith. She received her education at Erhard Country School in Otter Tail County, Minnesota.
On June 10, 1950, Marjorie was united in marriage to Eugene Aune in Sisseton, South Dakota. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Janet Kay and Patricia Ann. They shared 66 years of marriage. During their marriage they resided in multiple locations as a result of Eugene’s employment. Those locations included Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana. After Eugene’s retirement they spent 19 years wintering in Arizona and summers in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
Marjorie was a faithful wife, a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, entertaining, spending time with family and friends, and traveling in their motor home. During many of those trips they included their two grandchildren. Every year was a new adventure with them.
In July, 2012, Marjorie and Eugene moved to Harmony River Living Center where she remained until her passing.

Children, Janet (Steven) Kilian and Patricia Peasley, both Hutchinson, MN;
Grandchildren, Eric (Tara) Kilian of Hutchinson, and Amy (Sara) Kilian of St. Louis Park, MN;
Great-Grandchildren, Rowan, Brenna, and Briley Kilian;
Sister, Janice (Bill) Borowski of Fergus Falls, MN.
Marjorie also enjoyed being a special part of the lives of Brett and Brooke Hopponen.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Joyce Grant; parents-in-law, Carl and Ruby Aune; Uncle, Selvin Severson; Siblings, Virgil (Marilyn) Grant, Myrtle Strader, Donald (Joyce) Grant, and Wanda (Iner) Hagen; brothers-in-law, Gordon Aune and Duane Aune.
