Service Information
Arlene Boelter, age 96, of Buffalo Lake, formerly of Cosmos, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the Buffalo Lake Health Care Center.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos.
Interment will be held in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 28, 2016, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Obituary
Arlene Muriel Martha Boelter was born to Walter and Sophia (Schroeder) Homan on April 8, 1920, in Osceola Township, Renville County, Minnesota. Arlene was baptized May 23, 1920, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Osceola Township, and later confirmed on May 20, 1934, at St. John’s Lutheran Church by Rev. Heidtke.
On September 23, 1945, Arlene was united in marriage with Clarence Boelter. To this union two children were born, Dennis and Bonnie. Clarence and Arlene farmed together until 1986 when they retired and moved to Cosmos where they lived until 2010 when Clarence passed away. Arlene then moved into the Buffalo Lake Health Care Center where she has lived to the time of her death.
Arlene was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Cosmos, and a member of the Cosmos Legion Auxiliary for 58 years. She also helped volunteer at the Cosmos Nursing Home. Arlene enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling, playing games, and being with family and friends.
On Saturday evening, September 24, 2016, Arlene passed away at the Buffalo Lake Health Care Center, having reached the age of 96 years. Blessed be her memory.
Arlene is survived by her Son, Dennis Boelter and his fiancé Debra Hutchins, of Cosmos, and by her Grandchildren, James Boelter and his Wife, Lori, of Hutchinson, and Tara Boelter of Cosmos.
Arlene was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Clarence, Daughter Bonnie, and Sister Iona Johnson.
