Janice “Jan” Schmandt, age 62, of Hutchinson, Minnesota passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the Birchwood House in Hutchinson.
Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment in Oakland Cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials Preferred to the Our Savior’s Lutheran School Playground.

Obituary
Janice Lynn Schmandt was born on May 9, 1954, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of John and Evelyn (Grussing) Kruse. Janice was baptized as an infant on May 23, 1954, by Rev. J.H. Beck, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 19, 1968, by Rev. W.F. Wetzstin, both at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1972.
On April 28, 1979, Janice was united in marriage to LeRoy Schmandt at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township. This marriage was blessed with four children, Melissa, Sarah, Lori, and Christopher. Janice and LeRoy raised their family and resided in Hutchinson their entire life. Janice and LeRoy shared 37 years of marriage.
Janice was employed at 3M, Kmart, and she also worked as a Paraprofessional at Our Savior’s Lutheran School in Hutchinson. Janice had a great passion for working with kids. She retired in 2009. Janice was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and School.
Janice enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to her gardens, camping, and boating. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.
Janice passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the Birchwood House in Hutchinson, Minnesota, at the age of 62 years.
She will be dearly missed by many.

Judy Lind and her husband, Larry, of St. Francis, MN,
John Kruse and his wife, Wendi, of Deer River, MN,
James “Jim” Kruse and his wife, Karol, of Baxter, MN,
David Kruse of Willmar, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Janice is preceded in death by her Parents, John and Evelyn Kruse.

Though I know that this is a difficult time for you, my hope is that you will be comforted from God’s inspired word the Bible. John 5:28,29 and Revelation 21: 3,4 gives hope of a future resurrection and the complete elimination of death, pain and mourning.
