Roy G. Howk

Obituary

Roy G. Howk was born on May 26, 1924, at home in Brownton, Minnesota.  He was the son of Ray and Elsie (Clopton) Howk.  He received his education at a country school in Winthrop. 

On May 14, 1944, Roy was united in marriage to Rose Alice Messner in Lafayette, Minnesota.   Roy and Rosie were baptized in 1961 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Winthrop, Minnesota.  They made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota and were blessed with seven children, Kenneth, Steve, Sharon, Iris, Karen, Keith and Colleen.  Roy and Rosie shared 58 years of marriage until she passed away on May 15, 2002. 

Roy worked at Green Giant as a farm supervisor for 36 years retiring in 1999.  He was a member at the Apostolic Christian Church in Winthrop, where he had been an usher and ran the sound system. 

Roy enjoyed woodworking, camping and playing dominoes with his family. He especially enjoyed watching the grandchildren grow up and spending time in fellowship with family and friends.

Roy passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016, at his home in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 18 days.  Blessed be his memory.
