Service Information
Marcene Hopp, age 65, of Cedar Mills Township, rural Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at her home.
Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 21, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookfield Township, rural Hector, with interment in the church cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be Sunday, May 20, 2018, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector, and will continue on Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church for one hour prior to the service.
Obituary
Marcene Leann Hopp was born July 12, 1952, in Hutchinson, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Ruth (Meorke) Pessek. She was baptized on August 31, 1952, at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, and confirmed in her faith there on April 23, 1967. Marcene grew up in Hutchinson, and graduated with the Class of 1970 from the Hutchinson High School.
On October 16, 1971, Marcene was united in marriage to Richard Hopp at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookfield Township, rural Hector. This marriage was blessed with three children, Travis, Neil, and Becky. They made their home in Cedar Mills Township, and had shared 44 years of marriage when Richard passed away on April 1, 2016.
Marcene was employed by Hutchinson Health as a dietician with the hospital food service. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Marcene was a people person with a kind disposition, always putting others first. Always hard working, she enjoyed gardening and mowing lawn. She liked feeding the birds, and enjoyed camping.
Late Tuesday evening, May 15, 2018, Marcene passed away at home, having reached the age of 65 years. Blessed be her memory.

Children: Travis Hopp of Cedar Mills,
Neil Hopp of Hutchinson, and
Becky Hopp of Cedar Mills;
Grandchildren: Makalea Hopp of Hutchinson, Mariah Hopp of Hutchinson, Tylor Hopp of Fairfax, Damian Hopp of Fairfax, and Victoria Wilson of Cedar Mills;
Great-Grandchildren: Arianna Lara of Hutchinson, and Mateo Cruz of Litchfield;
Sister, Nancy Steuber and her husband David of Cosmos;
Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law: Roger Hopp, Russ (Jan) Hopp, Ken Hopp, Wes (Barb) Hopp, Kevin (Connie) Hopp, Lorraine (Don) Mattheson;
many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Marcene was preceded in death by her Parents, Henry and Ruth Pessek, Husband Richard, Brother Tom, Sister JoEllen, Sister Kathy in infancy, and Brother-in-law Curtis “Butch” Hopp.

I am shocked and sad to hear about Marcene . I worked with her at HTI . She was a hard worker but we always had fun . I send my sympathies and my prayers . I haven’t seen her in the past year but when we met by chance it started at “hi” and an hour later a goodby .
