Service Information

Victor Martin Brinkmeier, age 92, of Hutchinson, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018, at the Saint Cloud Hospital in Saint Cloud, Minnesota.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment in the Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018, from 5:00- 7:00 P.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangments are with the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, Minnesota.

Obituary

Victor Martin Brinkmeier was born on June 16, 1926, in Winsted Township, Minnesota. He was the son of Emil and Alma (Schulz) Brinkmeier. Victor was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth,  at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. He received his education in Lester Prairie, and was a graduate of the Lester Prairie High School Class of 1944.

On August 8, 1948, Victor was united in marriage to Lorraine Kaufmann at First Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. Lorraine passed away on July 16, 2012. Victor and Lorraine shared over 63 years of marriage.

Victor was a lifelong farmer. Victor and Lorraine resided and farmed in rural Lester Prairie, rural Cedar Mills and south of Hutchinson, Minnesota. After retirement, they lived in Brownton, Minnesota. Victor and Lorraine later moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota. Victor was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church.

Victor enjoyed woodworking, fishing, card playing and traveling. He also had a passion for tending to his lawn, tomato plants and flowers. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

Victor passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018, at the Saint Cloud Hospital, in Saint Cloud, Minnesota at the age of 92 years.

Victor is survived by his:

Son, Gary Brinkmeier and his fiancé, Cindy Baasch, of Hutchinson, MN;

Daughter, Deb Rath, and her husband, Curt, of Saint Cloud, MN;

Grandchildren, Brian Brinkmeier and his wife, Angie, Jodi Kulik, and her husband Tim, Ryan Rath, Kim Rath;

Great Grandchildren, Abby, Isabella and Jake Brinkmeier, Autumn, Andrew,  and Aleece Kulik, Noah Rath;

Special Friend, Delores McLain, of Hutchinson, Minnesota;

Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Victor is preceded in death by his Spouse, Lorraine Brinkmeier; Parents, Emil and Alma Brinkmeier; Sister, Marlene Brinkmeier; Sister, Anita Dierfeldt and Brother-In-Law, Alvin; Daughter-In-Law, Yvonne Brinkmeier.

The family of Victor Brinkmeier would like to thank you for your thoughts, prayers and kindness in this time of sorrow. We appreciate your kind expressions of sympathy.

    I’m sorry to hear of Victor’s passing. I lived next door to him for 6 years, and from day 1, he was an extremely caring guy, very nice, very friendly. I’m sure everyone who ever met him, will miss him dearly. Prayers to the family.
