Janet was baptized as an infant and confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at the Finnish Apostolic Church in Cokato, Minnesota. Janet received her education in Cokato and was a graduate of the Cokato High School with the class of 1955. She continued her education in Berkeley, California, attending college for one year.

Janet loved resort life and had a passion for helping others appreciate the outdoors. She enjoyed fishing and traveling. Janet cherished her time spent with family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of Janet’s passing. My sympathy to all. I remember all the fun we had at whatever lake we could gather, be it the resort near Hackensack, your cabin near Backus or the resort near Cross Lake. I am sorry I will not be able to be with you on June 1, I will be traveling out of the county.

I give you my deepest sympathy to the Yierks family. She was a very sweet lady and I really like to socialize with her when she lived at Park Towers. She was a very nice woman. May God bless you during this very difficult time.

Remember fondly the time I spent with Janet at Harmony River. She was so kind and always sat with residents in the chapel until they were picked up by someone working ay Harmony River. Rest In Peace, my friend.

My deepest sympathy to the Yerks family. Janet and I became friends in high school in Cokato. Through the years I lost track of her and did not realize we lived so close to each other in Hutchinson. I am so sorry for that. We had many fun times together in school and will remember her for her silly, loving nature.
