Service Information
Marlin Kiecker, age 87, of Fairfax, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be Monday, November 11, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 10, 2019, from 3:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax and will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Obituary
Marlin Lyle Kiecker was born on June 10, 1932, in Wellington Township, Renville County, Minnesota. He was the son of Ernst and Leora (Ruschmeyer) Kiecker. Marlin was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in faith as a youth in 1946, both at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Wellington Township. He received his education in Fairfax and was a graduate of the Fairfax High School Class of 1951.
On June 22, 1960, Marlin was united in marriage to Elaine Karnik at the Rectory in Hector, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple farmed in rural Fairfax. He moved to town in 1982 and retired in 1997. Marlin and Elaine were blessed with three children. They shared 59 years of marriage.
Marlin was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax and a former member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Wellington Township where he served on the Church Council as a Trustee. He was also a member of the Wellington Town Board.
Marlin loved farming, playing cards, dancing, gardening, mowing at the farm and watching his grandchildren play sports. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Marlin passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, at the age of 87 years. Blessed be his memory.

Children, Jack Kiecker and his wife, Patty of Hector, MN,
Julie Huiras and her husband, Todd of Fairfax, MN, and
Janel Schweiss and her husband, Tim of Fairfax, MN;
Grandchildren, Rachel (Carlos) Rosa, Stacy (John) Nelson, Ryan Kiecker, Cody Huiras and his special friend, Katie, Kyle Huiras, Trevor Schweiss and Jenna Schweiss;
Great-grandchildren, Elena Rosa, Emma Nelson and Elliott Nelson;
Sister, Lila Anderson;
Brother, Elgar Kiecker and his wife, Arlene;
Sister-in-law, Ev Weinzetl;
Nieces, Nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Marlin was preceded in death by his Parents, Ernst and Leora Kiecker; Brother, Orville Kiecker in infancy; Brothers-in-law, Loren Anderson, Leon Weinzetl and Gerald Karnik.

I just found this page today, although I knew of Marlin’s passing in 2019. My deepest condolences.
I’m so very happy I got to see Marlin again in 2017 after 38 years! It was great reminiscing and looking at the old farm(s) and tractors that I knew in my youth while catching up with the younger generation. Marlin was such a sweet man.
