Dale D. Anderson

Obituary

Dale Duane Anderson was born on February 13, 1932, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the son of Adolph and Cora (Meyer) Anderson. Dale was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at First Lutheran Church in Cosmos, Minnesota. He received his elementary education at the Riverside District 89 country school and later graduated with the Litchfield High School class of 1950. Dale continued his education at Veterans Agriculture School in Hector, Minnesota.

Dale entered active military service in the United States Air Force on December 1, 1950, in Minneapolis, Minnesota and served his country during the Korea War. He received an Honorable Discharge on November 30, 1954, at Selfridge Air Force Base in Michigan and achieved the rank of Sergeant.

On June 21, 1958, Dale was united in marriage to Johanna Maria Nielsen at First Lutheran Church in Cosmos. This marriage was blessed with five children, Rhonda, James, Gerald, Duane, and Gregory. Dale and Johanna resided in rural Cosmos, Minnesota. They shared 62 years of marriage.

He was also employed as a bookkeeper for the Litchfield Courthouse, Olson Elevator, and United States Air Force. Dale was a lifelong farmer on the family farm.

Dale enjoyed horse riding, four wheeling, snowmobiling, and reading books. He was a member of the Saddle Club, First Evangelical Lutheran Church Board, Sunday School Superintendent, PTA, and the Cosmos School Board.

Dale passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, in rural Lake Lillian, at the age of 88 years. Blessed be his memory.
