DuWayne E. Witthus, age 77, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Friday, October 30th, 2020, at GlenFields Living With Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 4th, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Auburn, Minnesota with interment in High Island Cemetery in New Auburn.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 4th, from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., 1 ½ hours prior to the service, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Auburn.
Obituary
DuWayne Elmer Witthus was born on March 15, 1943, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Elmer and Leona (Donnay) Witthus. DuWayne was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Helen Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. He received his elementary education at St. John’s Lutheran School and was a graduate of the Glencoe High School Class of 1961.
On August 17, 1963, DuWayne was united in marriage to Luella Lindeman at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Dawn and Stacy. DuWayne and Luella resided in Green Isle Township, New Auburn, and then to the family farm in Sibley County, where the couple resided for more than 20 years. DuWayne and Luella shared 30 years of marriage, until Luella passed away on January 20, 1994.
DuWayne was employed at Telex in Glencoe in tool setup, Type A Die setter and tool and die setter for 35 years. He retired in 2008. Prior to being employed at Telex, he worked at Farmhand and drove truck for MN Fur Food.
DuWayne was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn and was a former church council president. In his younger years he was a member of High Island Lake organization.
DuWayne enjoyed farm life. As he grew up, he helped his mom and dad milk cows and do the field work. After his dad passed away, DuWayne and his family moved out to the family farm where he continued his love for farming. DuWayne also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a passion for John Deere tractors and loved watching the RFD farm channel, especially the tractor programs and the old-time polka and country music shows. DuWayne also enjoyed light hearted conversation; he had a way of always making everyone feel comfortable. Everyone loved his sense of humor and quick wit; making people smile is what he enjoyed most. DuWayne cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, especially the holidays with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
DuWayne passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe at the age of 77 years. Blessed be his memory.

DuWayne was preceded in death by his Parents, Elmer and Leona Witthus; Wife, Luella Witthus: Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Otto and Helen Lindeman; Son-in-law, Gayle Nelson; Sister, Darlene Pollman; Brother-In-Law, Elvin Lindeman; Sister-In-Law, Delores Kramer; Nephew, Jeff Lindeman.
