Service Information
Alice Ellig, age 84, of Hutchinson (formerly of Cedar Mills), passed away Thursday, January 14th, 2016 at Cedar Crest of Cosmos.
Funeral Services will be Monday, January 18, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Acoma Township, rural Hutchinson.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 17, 2016, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Monday ALL at church.
Obituary
Alice Irene Ellig was born on May 22, 1931, in McLeod County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Nels and Annie (Schuch) Arneson. Alice was baptized as an infant, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Brownton/Stewart, Minnesota area, and was a graduate of the Brownton High School Class of 1951.
On June 27, 1954, Alice was united in marriage to Elmer Ellig at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Auburn, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two children, Bruce and Barbara. Alice and Elmer resided in Cedar Mills, Minnesota, until 1997, when they moved into Hutchinson, Minnesota. They shared 48 years of marriage until Elmer passed away on May 26, 2002.
Alice was a proud employee of 3M Company in Hutchinson, Minnesota for 29 years and retired in January of 1991. Alice was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #96.
Alice enjoyed taking walks, going on boat rides, fishing, knitting, quilting and tending to her flower gardens. Alice and Elmer enjoyed spending summers at their cabin on Lake MinneBelle. Alice especially cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
When Alice needed assistance with her daily care she became a resident of Cedar Crest of Hutchinson/Cosmos, Minnesota, on April 28, 2014. She passed away there on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at the age of 84 years.

Alice is preceded in death by her Parents, Nels and Annie Arneson; Husband, Elmer Ellig; Brothers, Robert Arneson, Richard Arneson; Sister, Doris Springer and her husband, Joe; Brothers-In-Law, Milton Plocher, Sheldon Klitzke, Vernon Messer; Sister-In-Law, Evelyn Neuhaus and her husband, Gerhard.
