She was a staple of my childhood and young adult life, especially at church. She was a lovely lady that put up with wiggly Sunday School kids year after year. I will remember her always with fondest of memories. Rest In Peace Dorothy??

She was a wonderful lady. She was a life long friend of my mom’s and they had lived out in Washington D.C together. Every year, the 4 friends referred to as the “Washington 4” would celebrate their birthdays together. I also had the pleasure of working with her at Johnson Bros in Litchfield.
Amy Jans Gilbertson says
Wonderful memories of Dorothy being so involved with the youth at First Lutheran Church while growing up in GC. Especially remember her involvement with Luther League. I also remember she did her knitting at church, thought that was so smart. RIP Dorothy!
Tim Bergstrom says
Dorothy was in Washington, DC during WWII with my Mom (Bette Miller Bergstrom), Ethel Larsen Pedersen and Elaine Larsen Johnson. They were lifelong friends and I so enjoyed getting to know Dorothy during their birthday get-togethers!
Deb Holtz says
I worked with Dorothy at Johnson Bros. for my ten years there. She was a mainstay of that office for so many years. Dorothy was an awesome cook and baker, and I’m pleased to have many of her recipes in the series of JBC cookbooks we assembled over the years. I remember the countless potlucks, playing 500 during lunch breaks, watching her knit and knit . . . and knit (!) on break, and hearing stories of her travels and her dogs (and all the oatmeal she cooked for them every morning before coming to work). One of Dorothy’s signature phrases was that she was “busier than a one-armed paper-hanger” (a phrase I didn’t understand until the first time I tried to hang wallpaper!). But even so, she was never too busy to answer a question, give a bit of history or help with an office task. I’m blessed because of the memories.
Mike Swanson says
So sorry to hear of her passing. I will always remember the many years we worked at Johnson Bros. together. Especially her being my partner in the many 500 card games we played at break.
Gerry Moen says
I had so much fun visiting with Idella Moe and and Dorothy at the Nursing Home, The stories went on and on talking about working on all the committees they were involved in to keep Grove City an active town. They were having as much fun reminiscing as I was listening. I wished I would have had a camera and recorder. It was precious.
Mark L. Lagergren says
Dorothy was a beacon @ Trinity Lutheran Church. I assume Dorothy and my mom are catching up in heaven.
God’s blessings to your family.
