Service Information
Robert Ramthun, age 75, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Edgewood in Sartell, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be Friday, July 16th, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe with interment at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo, Minnesota.
Gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.
Obituary
Robert Henry Ramthun was born on July 10, 1945, in Buffalo, Minnesota. He was the son of Henry and Laura (Debner) Ramthun. Robert was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Minnesota. He received his education in Buffalo and was a graduate of the Buffalo High School Class of 1963. Robert furthered his education at Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
On August 31, 1965, Robert entered active military service and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was the Crew Chief/C130 and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Robert was Honorably Discharged on June 6, 1969.
Robert was employed as a welder in fabrication and manufacturing. He enjoyed watching wildlife whether it was from outside or observing from a window inside. Robert also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He was a life member of the New Auburn VFW Post #7266.
When he needed assistance with his daily care, Robert became a resident of Edgewood in Sartell, Minnesota, and passed away there on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at the age of 75 years. Blessed be his memory.

Children, Rena Miller and her husband, Roland of South Haven, Minnesota,
Dean Ramthun and his wife, Helen, of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin;
Grandchildren, Alissa Ramthun (Matthew);
Step grandchildren, Brandon Miller and his wife, Amy, and Matt Jansen and his fiancé, Sadee;
Great grandchild, Natalie;
Step great grandchildren, Ayriona, Aryiah, and Eliza;
And other relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his Parents, Henry and Laura Ramthun.
