Leonard R. Scholla, age 80, of Gaylord, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Society in Winthrop, Minnesota.
In accordance to Leonard’s wishes a Private Family Graveside Service will be held in the Gaylord Municipal Cemetery.
Obituary
Leonard “Len” R. Scholla was born on December 2, 1940, in Hector Township, Renville County, Minnesota. He was the son of Joseph and Rosella (Birr) Scholla. Len was baptized and confirmed as a youth at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector. He received his education in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Buffalo Lake High School. After high school, Len worked at Arlington Cement and Stone Company in Arlington, Minnesota.
On June 24, 1961, Len was united in marriage to Katherine Lang at First Lutheran Church in Olivia, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple resided in Gibbon, Minnesota for four years before moving to Gaylord, Minnesota. Len and Katherine shared 60 years of marriage and were blessed with three children, Brian, Susan, and Bradley.
After their marriage, Len was employed at E.C. Riecke Hatchery and Bandow Oil in Gibbon, Minnesota. On August 1, 1964, he purchased City Service in Gaylord. Len owned and operated Len’s Service for 43 years, before retiring in 2007.
Len was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord and served on the church council. He was a charter member of the Gaylord Jaycees, serving as a board member and president. Len was also a 23-year member of the Gaylord Fire Department.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, stock car racing, and bowling. He especially loved trips to Branson, Missouri, and spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.
Len passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Good Samaritan Society in Winthrop, Minnesota, at the age of 80 years.

Susan Becker and her special friend, Daryl Husfeldt of Hutchinson, MN,
Bradley Scholla and his special friend, Myrna Munguia, of Gaylord, MN;
Grandchild, Abby Tollefson and her husband, Conner, of North Branch, MN;
Great-grandchild, Callan Tollefson;
Sister, Marcella Brede of Hutchinson, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Len is preceded in death by his Parents, Joseph and Rosella Scholla; Brother, Norman Scholla; Niece Anna Soeffker; and Brother-in-Law, Lenhard Brede.
