We didn’t get to see Delores very much in the last few years but I am so thankful she was able to meet my children. I hope she knew how much I thought of her. She was always so kind to me and my siblings when we would visit them in Minnesota. I remember one visit very fondly. My sister and I stayed with Delores and my Papa Jackson for a few days. Us being from Georgia didn’t spend as much time in Minnesota or experience as much time with this side of the family. Delores I know now as an adult made a point to plan things for me and my sister to do with her. We did so many different crafts together. She tried so hard to make us comfortable. I really enjoyed the time I spent with her on that visit. I always felt her kindness when I was a round her. She always made me feel at home and that I was so welcomed to be in her home. Looking back and being older I realize her many gifts she gave to this world and to our family. I am so thankful to have known her. She has forever left an impression on my life and her kindness and warmth will live on through the people she touched.
