Charles “Chuck” Henry Jensen, age 84, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 20, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota with interment following at the Glencoe City Cemetery in Glencoe.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021, 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota, and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
The service will be live-streamed on Monday, December 20, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. on First Evangelical Lutheran Church’s Facebook page. You can also access the live-streamed service via the church’s website at www.firstglencoe.org and click watch worship services online.
Military Honors will be provided by the Glencoe Military Honor Group.
Obituary
Charles Henry Jensen was born on June 3, 1937, at home in Bergen Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. He was the son of Elvin and Alma (Schlauderaff) Jensen. Charles was baptized as an infant on June 20, 1937, and was later confirmed in his faith on May 20, 1951, as a youth, both by Pastor Alfred Streufert at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. Charles received his education in Glencoe and was a graduate of the Glencoe High School class of 1955. Charles served his country as a Private for the United States Army Reserve from March 14, 1959, to September 13, 1959. On September 13 he was given an honorable release from active duty.
On June 19, 1965, Charles was united in marriage to Renae Jones by Rev. Harold Kraft at Beauford Ev. United Brethren Church. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Kay, Gary, and Dean. The couple made their home on a farm north of Glencoe until 2006 when they moved into Glencoe. Charles and Renae shared over 51 years of marriage together until Renae’s passing on July 30, 2016.
Charles worked as a dairy farmer most of his life. In 1964, Charles was awarded “ The Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year.” In 1992, Charles and Renae were awarded “McLeod County Farm Family of the Year.” Charles sold his cows in 1995 but continued farming through 2005 when he made the decision to retire.
Charles enjoyed hunting and being a part of the woodworking club. He loved to watch and listen to any and all Minnesota and Glencoe Sporting Events. Charles cherished the time he spent attending the grandchildren’s activities. He served on the McLeod Co-op Power Board for 18 years and the Glencoe Co-op Association for 30 years. Charles had a strong faith and served on the different church boards, as congregational president, as well as a deacon. He was also a part of the church men’s club. Charles was a member of the local 4-H club and the FFA. Charles was a member of the Glencoe American Legion.
Charles passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 84.

Grandchildren, Bonnie Young, Aaron Young, Dusty Jensen, Dalton Jensen, Hannah Jensen, Alyssa Jensen;
Sister-in-law, Elaine Jennings and her husband, Roger, of California;
Brother-in-law, Roger Jones and his wife, Sheri, of Texas;
Nieces, Nephews, Other relatives and many friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Renae Jensen; Parents, Elvin and Alma Jensen; Brother, Elvin Jensen Jr.; Sister, Laura Schiroo and her husband Alvin.
