Obituary

Larry Arthur Peterson was born on August 4, 1949, in Cokato, Minnesota. He was the son of Raynold WW Peterson and Doris (Franklin) Peterson-Gray. Larry was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith at the Stockholm Lutheran Church in Cokato, Minnesota. He received his education in Lester Prairie, MN, and was a graduate of Lester Prairie High School Class of 1967.

On September 27, 1969, Larry was united in marriage to Nancy Lee Geiser at the Stockholm Lutheran Church in Cokato, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple resided in Lester Prairie. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Tammy, Kelly and Barry. Larry and Nancy shared 52 years of marriage together.

Larry was employed at Holt Motors in Cokato, Tonka Toys in Mound, MN, and Advance Machine in Plymouth, MN. He was involved in the community by serving on the Lester Prairie City Council, McLeod County Sheriff’s Posse (County Fair/Winstock/Dances) and working as a part-time police officer for the City of Lester Prairie.

Larry enjoyed teaching courses on ATV riding. He enjoyed playing in the snow, especially snowmobiling and getting to use his snowblower. Larry cherished his time spent in the outdoors; mowing lawn, riding motorcycle, boating on the lake, and going to car shows. He enjoyed traveling with Nancy when they had the chance. Larry enjoyed life behind the wheel, whether it be driving school bus, charter bus, or semis for past employers.

His greatest joy over the years was his family along with becoming a grandfather and great-grandfather.

Larry Arthur Peterson, age 72, of Lester Prairie, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minnesota. Blessed be his memory.
