Glen W. Beneke, age 94, of Glencoe, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Cedar Crest Estate in Silver Lake, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 9:30 – 11:00 A.M., one and a half hours prior to the service at First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Obituary
Glen Walter Beneke was born on January 30, 1928, in Sibley Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. He was the son of Edwin and Regina (Voigt) Beneke. Glen was baptized on February 5, 1928, by Rev. Kolbe and later confirmed in his faith on May 3, 1942, by Rev. Alf. Streufert at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota.
On August 27, 1950, Glen was united in marriage to Lora Templin by Rev. Alf. Streufert at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Glen and Lora made their home on Glen’s family farm west of Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Lois, Susan, Dale and Sarah. Glen and Lora shared nearly 67 years of marriage until Lora’s passing in 2017.
A lifelong member of and deacon at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, faith was important to Glen who put his complete trust in God.
A farmer his entire life, Glen loved all aspects of farming from raising cows and pigs to planting and harvesting crops. He was a jack-of-all-trades – a mechanic, a carpenter, a businessman and more – all to provide for his family. Glen also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and he reveled in telling stories of the good old days. Glen and Lora loved to do things together, truly cherishing sharing their lives together.
Glen passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Cedar Crest Estates in Silver Lake, Minnesota, at the age of 94 years, 4 months. Blessed be his memory.

Brother-in-law, Harold Templin and his wife, Bonnie;
Nieces, Nephews, Other relatives and many friends.
Glen is preceded in death by his Parents, Edwin and Regina Beneke; Daughter, Sarah Beneke; Son-in-law, Bruce Graham; Great-Granddaughter, Regina Kallander; Sister, Dorothy Aul and her husband, John; Brother-in-law, Chester Templin and his wife, Marcia; and Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Tillman and Hilda Templin.
