Obituary

Adeline Ida Elizabeth (Schaefer) Beguhl was born on April 2, 1930, in Camden Township, Carver County, Minnesota.  She was the daughter of Herman and Minnie (Nenn) Schaefer. She was baptized as an infant and later was confirmed in her faith both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. She received her education in Glencoe, Minnesota.

On May 23, 1948,  Adeline was united in marriage to Arnold Gruenhagen at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Janet, Glenn and Marilyn.

Adeline worked as a seamstress at Fingerhut for many years and taught the craft of sewing at Anoka Technical College. Over the years, Adeline had the opportunity to travel to New York with students to teach fashion and sewing. She retired in March of 2002, but that didn’t mean she slowed down…she kept busy by cleaning homes and doing many sewing alterations.

Adeline enjoyed traveling, bowling, fishing, and spending time at the family cabin on the lake. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, especially when she was able to share her tricks of the trade with sewing.  Adeline enjoyed the time spent visiting with her family and friends.

My sympathy to all of the Gruenhagen family. I didn’t know your mother but if she was anything like her daughters, she was a wonderful woman.
