Service Information

Alan Alsleben, age 55, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 8th, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment at the Glencoe City Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Saturday, June 8th, 2019, from 9:00-11:00 A.M, two hours prior the service at the church.

Obituary

Alan Edgar Alsleben was born on January 14, 1964, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Ernest and Lorene (Penk) Alsleben. Alan was baptized as an infant on January 26, 1964, by Rev. George Perlich and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth on May 14, 1978, by Rev. Layton Lemke both at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. His confirmation verse was John 14:6. Alan received his education in Glencoe, Minnesota, attending Glencoe High School.

Alan made his home in Glencoe. He lived for farming and helped others milk and farm their land. He also was a carpenter, care taker for his apartment, and cooked at several restaurants including Bump’s Family Restaurant and Biscay Liquors. Alan was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota.

Alan had a big heart and at the end of his life gave a gift of life thru eye donation. He enjoyed cooking and would always bring food to others and loved making cookies. Alan also enjoyed snowmobiling and watching Vikings, Twins and Panthers games. He loved socializing and treasured the time spent with his family and friends.

Alan passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 55 years, 4 months and 6 days.

Arlene Groskreutz and her husband, Bob,
Anita Renstrom,
Arnold Alsleben and his wife, Shirley,
Amy McKnight and her husband, Bill,
Angela Lohrenz and her husband, Wes,
Adam Alsleben and his wife, Wanda;
Sister-In-Law, Carol Alsleben;
Nephews, Nieces, Other relatives and many friends.

Alan was preceded in death by his Parents, Ernest and Lorene Alsleben; Brother, Aaron Alsleben.
