Obituary
Amber Mary Czech was born on July 11, 2005, in Hutchinson, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter and Angela Czech. She was baptized as an infant on September 4, 2005, and later confirmed in her faith on March 6, 2022.
Amber received her education at St. Anastasia Catholic School from Kindergarten through sixth grade and at Hutchinson Public Schools from seventh grade through her senior year. She graduated from Hutchinson High School with the Class of 2023. Amber continued her education at Alexandria Technical and Community College, graduating with honors on May 8, 2024, earning her diploma in Welding Technology.
Amber earned her first paycheck working for her Uncle Andy at Andy’s Lawn and Snow. She approached every task with dedication, from washing equipment to moving snow. Her attention to detail and natural precision showed in the meticulous mowing patterns she created, leaving many customers delighted with her work. In July of 2024, Amber became employed at Advanced Process Technologies as a welder. She transformed designs into durable, high-performance equipment for food and dairy processors across North America. Amber was passionate and precise about her craft, and said “If you are not going to do it right, don’t do it at all”. Amber could often be found at Hutchinson High School on her Fridays off, helping teach in the welding program and promoting the trades, a role she genuinely loved.
Amber enjoyed spending time outdoors, going to the lake and fishing, Milwaukee Tools, chocolate milk, and playing sports. Basketball was her favorite sport and she was always ready to humble you at a game of Horse. She began playing competitive basketball in third grade for St. Anastasia, continued with Hutchinson Youth Basketball Association through seventh and eighth grade, and went on to play for Hutchinson High School. Amber scored her first varsity points in 2021 and concluded her basketball career in 2023. She also competed in the Elks Club and Knights of Columbus free-throw contests, advancing to the state level in both. At the state level, Amber placed fourth at age ten in the Elks competition, and earned second place at ages 11 and 14 in the Knights of Columbus contests. She was a member of the St. Anastasia Catholic Community serving for mass, attending mass and building her faithful community. Above all, Amber cherished time spent with her family and friends.
Amber passed away on November 11, 2025, at work, at the age of 20 years and four months.
Blessed be her memory.

Laura Alexander says
My deepest condolences to Amber’s family, friends and coworkers that are impacted by her loss of life.
No parent should have to worry about their child in a workplace, especially females.
Amber’s life will be remembered and honored for years forward in the hearts of every female that chooses trades.
Let Amber’s life loss be the voice females needed to be heard in a world of men that failed to stand-up against violence soon enough to preserve the faith females have in their skills, desire to remain in trades, and hope that one day men stop gatekeeping jobs.
In the U.S. we speak poorly about Islamist harm against females and hush workplace violence against females and systemic termination of females. We are told to act like these offenses don’t/didn’t happen.
Women don’t need to change. Men do.
May Amber be the flame that ignites change.
Dee Davis says
The construction and welding community is standing with you in this time of sorrow. Your loss is unimaginable and there and words are of little comfort now. Over 300 members from around the world called in and many will be in attendance at her service. We are sending you much love and many prayers. – From NEF Board all the NAWIC sisters
Bradley & Bonnie Hahn says
My prayer is that none of turn from God in our sorrow and grief. Why is asked but not ours to know. We can hate and blame, but we still need to hold fast to the thought that Amber is resting in the arms of our Lord and smiling down on her family and all those who loved her. We only met her once, but she knew her goals. Reading the above comments from those who didn’t her personally but have reached out says so much. May God continue to Bless her and her family and all of us whose hearts are saddened. RIP Amber. God Bless.
Angela Mikkelson says

Rachael Smith says
My heart breaks for Amber’s family and friends. I pray that her murderer faces justice under God as well as under our justice system, and I pray that the name Amber Czech is known and spoken in every apprenticeship program, every leadership class, every HR training, and every company that houses a male-dominated area of business to honor her legacy and ensure that the lack of standard operating procedures which allowed that dangerous man within a measurable distance of Amber will be remedied. It won’t bring her back, but I truly believe that from the grave she will save women. She shouldn’t have to. This isn’t fair. But I believe that she will. May the arms of Jesus wrap around you while you navigate this journey. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss.

Sisters of the past — we welcome you.
Sisters of the present — we support you.
Sisters of the future — we will not forget you.
Amber now takes her place among the women who built this trade before us — those whose names we speak, and those we hold quietly in our hearts. Her memory becomes part of the foundation we stand on. We didn’t know her personally, but we admire her beautiful contribution to our craft.
