Obituary
Andrew “Andy” Scott Jacobson was born on May 27, 1984, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was the cherished son of Scott and Jill (Sylvester) Jacobson. A 2003 graduate of Hutchinson High School, Andy excelled in athletics, participating in football, basketball, and track. He continued his love of sports at Mayville State University, where he played football and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2008.
Andy married the love of his life, Kim Johnson, on July 2, 2016, at Crow River Golf Club in Hutchinson. Together, they shared a deep love for family, faith, and community. He was baptized as an adult in North Dakota and was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Andy built a meaningful career in the construction industry, starting at Lowell in Mayville and currently serving as a bridge foreman for Hentges and Sons in Jordan, Minnesota. Though he worked long hours and was dedicated to his job, his family and friends were the focus of his free time. He shared his passion for sports by coaching various teams at Mayville State and was always present to cheer on his children at their games and events. He loved playing golf with his friends and took great joy in teaching Skylyn and Tuker the game he loved. He recently became enthusiastic about ice fishing with Tuker. Andy, also known to many of his friends as Jake, enjoyed cheering on his favorite football team - the Chicago Bears.
Anyone who knew Andy, whether for a moment or a lifetime, found a friend behind his infectious smile and his distinct laugh. He was famous for a well-timed dad joke or a silly photo. Andy enjoyed family game nights and joining the neighborhood kids for some kickball, wiffleball, or kick-the-can.
Andy is survived by his wife, Kim Jacobson; his children, Skylyn (Hayden), Tuker, and Bekett; his parents, Scott and Jill Jacobson; his brothers, Tony Jacobson and his wife, Christina, and Chris Jacobson and his wife, Brittany; his parents-in-law, Ron and Jan Johnson; his brother-in-law, Jeremy Johnson and his wife, Leigha; his sister-in-law, Niki Mackedanz and her husband, Matt; his nephews and nieces, Ayden, Liam, Owen, Scarlett, Sawyer, Maguire, Dawson, and Jayden; and many other relatives and friends.
Andy is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Gretchen Sylvester and Ethel Jacobson, and his great-grandmother, Ella Irgens.
Andy’s warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to family and friends will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

My condolences to the family of my brother. The 3 short lived years spent working with Andy, has truly shown me how much someone can make an impact in your life. In the short 3 years I’ve worked side by side with Andy. I’ve spent more time with him than with my own family. He has become a great friend and brother whom I’ve looked up to (literally) and will be dearly missed.
