Anita Klucking

Obituary

Anita Vance Klucking was born on September 9, 1933, in Groton, Vermont. She was the daughter of George H. and Theresa (Legare) Vance. Anita was baptized and confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at First Baptist Church in Groton, Vermont. She received her education in Groton and was a graduate of the Groton High School. She furthered her education for one year at Elliott Hospital, St. Anslem’s College.

On August 3, 1952, Anita was united in marriage to John “Jack” Klucking in Peacham, Vermont. This marriage was blessed with four children. After their marriage the couple lived in Beausejour, Manitoba, Canada before settling in Gaylord. The couple shared 53 years of marriage until Jack passed away on December 8, 2005.

During her life, Anita’s employment included working as a nurse at the Gaylord Hospital, in a dental office as a dental assistant, and owning and operating Klucking’s R & R restaurant and catering.

Anita was a member of American Lutheran Church in Gaylord and was a confirmation teacher. She was also a member of the Manthey-Asmus American Legion Auxiliary in Gaylord.

Anita enjoyed cooking, reading, watching game shows, knitting, baking and her sweet dog, Andy. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

When she needed assistance with her daily care, Anita became a resident of Oak Terrace Health Care Center on July 9, 2015, and passed away there on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at the age of 83 years. Blessed be her memory.
